We Love Crimson Lake .... However...

We arrived in Crimson Lake Provincial Park on May 12. That evening, as expected, we celebrated our arrival! Usually the next day is slow; however, we love Crimson and couldn't wait to do the 10 km hike around the lake. I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures..I promise I'll get better! There are some, but not as many as there should be for sure. Ryan joined us that Friday for the night. Always a fun time reminiscing, hearing new stories and just hanging around the fire. Not many know, but Barry has recently and secretly embraced country music and I have to say, there was a bit of dancing right at the end of the night!
The next day Ryan left and Barry, Merlot and I walked down to the boat launch. Although there was some damage from the winter, it's still awesome. Merlot loves swimming off the dock! Here's where the "however" comes in! On the way back from the boat launch, Barry blew a knee...kind of! Luckily Maureen, Kemis and Kona came to stay the night with us. Very soon after Maureen and Kemis' arrival the pain in the knee may have subsided...wink, wink.
Due to Barry's knee, we did not do as much in Crimson as we had hoped, but certainly still enjoyed it as always. Waking up and looking out your windows sometimes seeing deer walking through your site and pretty incredible. We absolutely love being in the trees with the smells, the sounds and the wildlife! Crimson certainly is one of our happy spots!
Like a good wife, we nurtured the knee and did everything we could for it to heal quickly. We had plans for long walks and bike rides with Jenn and Graeme in St. Albert that Barry was determined to do.
We left Crimson in cool weather and heavy rain!! We have our specific jobs on move day. I take care of securing the inside and Barry is in charge of the outside. I have to say, I felt really bad watching him folding up our huge and very awkward outdoor rug in that rain! Not enough to make me go out, but boy, it was close!! On to see Jenn in St. Albert, Edmonton...can't wait!
