Just a wildlife kind of day!

Okay, this post is going to be short! Barry and I decided to have a lazy day (June 3) and hop in the truck for a drive. Within a very short period of time we noticed traffic up ahead was breaking and slowing down. That means "wildlife"! We soon notice a herd of big horn sheep. There must have been at least 40 of them sauntering on and along the highway.
WE NEED TO INTERRUPT THIS BLOG FOR AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE! Oh My God, a huge black bear just went walking through our campsite to the RV beside us. Man and very small dog were sitting outside. Dog noticed bear and took after him. The dog was on a leash so couldn't run too far, but obviously scared the bear. The bear coming running back through our site into the trees again! He's been in this campground several times since we've been here, and quite close earlier this evening, prior to this last sighting. Not this close. I have to say, it's incredible to see them running so fast for their size. Sorry, no pics!! Happened too fast, but Merlot is still on the lookout! Here's a pic of him!

BACK TO SCHEDULED BLOG: Then within minutes after seeing the bighorn sheep, 2 huge elk (stopped taking tons of pics of elk...they're everywhere!). We decided to check out Jasper Hot Springs. The road going up there is so winding you weren't exceeding 40 km in most places (or less). Around the corner is a black bear on the side of a hill on the side of the road. Got a couple of awesome pictures of him!
We're not big fans of natural hot springs that are man-made pools, so we didn't intend to go in them, but we knew the drive there would be incredible, and it was!
On the way home there were more big horn sheep walking the highway. Due to all the wildlife sightings we've had and will continue to have, I've decided create a "Wildlife Sightings" album. Check it out!
When we returned home we were visited by our short-term neighbours, Shirla and Doug. They are from Colorado and were heading to Alaska in the morning. We had a such a fun evening drinking wine, exchanging stories and talking about future travel. I can't wait to hear about their Alaska trip when we meet again. Such great people!
Next day...very slow...
