Celebrating One Month Living on the Road!!!

We can't believe today, June 2, we have been living in our 38' KZ Durango for one month! It's crazy!! Things are great! We are lovin' life for sure!!

Today we got up early and took Merlot to the dog park since he was going to be staying home by himself for a few hours. The weather still is not that "warm", so we're comfortable doing that, especially since he walked around 2 lakes yesterday. Edith Lake and Lake Annette were both beautiful!! Edith Lake was about 4.7 km and Lake Annette was 2.7 k.m.. We were in the trees most of the time while walking around each lake which was beautiful. Merlot went for a couple of dips in the lakes, but it is glacier water...very cold!

After we returned home and got Merlot organized we headed into Jasper town centre to walk around and take some pictures! As I'm sure you'd heard, Jasper is similar to Banff but not quite as commercialized, which is nice! And if you're here, highly recommend the raspberry chocolate scone at Bear's Paw Bakery!! We then headed to Jasper Park Lodge. This place is amazing! We debated whether to stay and have lunch, but since we really wanted to try out the Jasper Brewing Co., we decided to just enjoy an IPA and a glass of wine on their patio overlooking the beautiful Lac Beauvert with the snow-covered mountains as the perfect backdrop. There were folks on the lake on paddle boards and kayaks. Such a beautiful, calm day!

We needed to work up an appetite before heading to Jasper Brewing Co. for their highly recommended burger and fries so we decided to walk around the lake. Unfortunately we didn't get too far. Due to elk calving season, areas around the lake were blocked off. We didn't mind....we forgot our bear spray so just as well.

And then we arrived at Jasper Brewing Co. Yes, the burger and fries were excellent!! Due to staff shortages, there was one young man catering to a large outdoor patio filled with customers. He did such a great job, and always smiling!!

We then headed back home to open one of our favorite bottles of wine (Freemark Merlot!!) and enjoy the incredible views and the stillness and peacefulness of the evening. Cheers Husband!! I love you.
